Maurice Sendak, the creator of Where The Wild Things Are passed away on Tuesday at age 83. Across dozens of schools in Melbourne’s south-east, teachers regularly inspect children’s exercise books and pencil cases for markings that may resemble tags or graffiti. If they suspect the child is practising a tag, they are reported to the Victorian Police and the suspect artwork is photographed and added to a police database to aid in a future prosecution.
